Excavation & Land Clearing Across the Mid-Ohio Valley

Ridgeline Excavation is based in Lowell, Ohio and works a 75-mile radius of the Mid-Ohio Valley — southeast Ohio and the Wood County side of West Virginia. If your property is inside that ring, we can get equipment to it.

Where we work

Our home base is Lowell, Ohio, on the Muskingum River in northwest Washington County. From there we run a 75-mile radius: up the Muskingum Valley past Beverly and Waterford, down the Ohio through Marietta, Belpre, Parkersburg and Vienna, west into the Athens and Nelsonville hill country, and north through Caldwell, Cambridge and Woodsfield toward St. Clairsville.

That ground is not uniform, and neither is the work. River-bottom lots near Lowell, Belpre and Parkersburg deal with clay soil, flood-plain water tables and spring high water. Lots up on the ridges deal with sandstone and shale under thin topsoil, grades steep enough that drainage has to be planned before anything is built, and driveways that wash out when they are not shaped right. Rural acreage out toward Caldwell, Woodsfield and Cambridge usually means long gravel lanes, brush and stumps to clear, ponds and field drainage — and access that decides how a job gets done.

If you are not sure whether your property is in range, call or text 740-629-7020 with the address or the nearest crossroad and we will tell you straight.

What we can bring to any of it

The same services travel everywhere on this list: site preparation, land clearing and brush removal, tree and stump removal, driveways and regrading, gravel pads and parking areas, drainage and yard regrading, utility trenching, culverts and concrete removal, recreation ponds, dirt bike and ATV tracks, and trails. Residential, commercial and agricultural.

Questions we get about coverage

Do you work on the West Virginia side of the river?

Yes. Parkersburg, Vienna, Williamstown, Mineral Wells, Sistersville, St. Marys and the ground around them are normal work for us — no different from the Ohio side.

How far out do you travel?

A 75-mile radius from Lowell, which reaches Cambridge and St. Clairsville on the north end and Athens and Nelsonville on the west. Further out is sometimes possible on larger jobs — call with the address and we will tell you honestly.

What if my property is behind a locked gate or a rough lane?

Tell us up front. Access affects what equipment we bring and how the job is staged, and it is far cheaper to plan for it than to discover it on the first morning.

Do you take commercial and farm work, or only houses?

All three. Residential, commercial and agricultural projects — from a single building pad to acreage clearing, field drainage, ponds and site work for a development.
